"Before you put it out there, consider your fellow human beings."

This is the phrase I wrote in all-caps Sharpie on a piece of scrap paper and taped to my door a few years ago. As a communicator, someone who designs words and experiences, I feel that I have a great responsibility. We must recognize that, whether we want to admit it or not, what we put out into the world - a simple post to close friends or a campaign that will reach millions - really will impact lives. So before I put "it" out there, I like to make sure "it" is going to do some good (or great) in the world. If you want to hear more about our power as communicators, you might like a blog post I wrote on the topic.

In the more traditional "About Me" sense, I love bluegrass music, looking at the Milky Way devoid of light pollution, books (mostly fantasy), Christmas lights and red wine. I also like replicating my friends' Facebook photos in watercolor and then posting those paintings online and tagging my friends in them without saying anything.
